The value champion, 60-hour battery life, audiophile 42mm drivers, foldable design, and now under $320. ANC isn't quite Sony/Bose level, but everything else overdelivers at this price.

  • 60-hour battery, double the competition
  • Audiophile-grade 42mm transducers
  • Foldable design for travel

Could Be Better

  • No multipoint Bluetooth connectivity
  • Build feels less premium than competitors

My Review

Sixty hours of battery is legitimately absurd. You'll forget to charge these for a week, then suddenly they've died in a meeting. Sennheiser engineered them around that philosophy: one charge covers a full work week plus a weekend. For Australian road trips or remote work rotations, they're transformative.

The 42mm transducers are audiophile-grade and it shows. Bass hits without muddiness, vocals stay crisp, treble doesn't sear your ears. Run them wired without batteries and they still sound great, that's honest driver design. Foldable frame makes them genuinely portable, and build feels studier than some cheaper options but less premium than Sony or Bose.

active noise cancellation (ANC) isn't as aggressive as Sony XM6 or Bose CustomTune. It's effective on constant noise like flights or train routes, but lacks the surgical precision for sudden spikes. No multipoint Bluetooth means you can't quickly switch from your phone to laptop. That's a real limitation for WFH flexibility.

Torture test results: baby crying on a Qantas flight is handled competently but not brilliantly. Eight hours of Teams calls is comfortable, no significant ear or headband fatigue because the clamping pressure is moderate. Walk through Pitt Street Mall with ANC on and you'll hear bus horns and urban noise pretty clearly. They're good here, not exceptional.

Australian warranty through JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman is handled smoothly. Replacement ear cushions are available everywhere for $35-45. Build longevity is solid across hinge and headband mechanisms.

ACL Note: Mid-range value ($313), 2-year warranty standard. Expected 3-4 year lifespan with regular commute use. Battery degradation starts after 2-3 years, hinge and headband durability very reliable. Replacement ear cushions widely available and inexpensive ($35-45).

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law: At $313, this is a mid range product with a reasonable expected lifespan of 3-4 years. Sennheiser offers a 2-year manufacturer warranty, but consumer guarantees extend beyond that for a product at this price point. If you experience headband cracking, ear cushion deterioration within the expected lifespan, you have a consumer guarantee claim. Start with the retailer you bought it from. JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, wherever. They must handle it, not redirect you to Sennheiser.
