My Review
The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 have a recommended retail price (RRP) of $499.95 but sell for around $354 at JB Hi-Fi. If you care about sound quality more than anything else in your earbuds, buy these. Full stop. Review over.
Still here? Fine, I'll explain. Sennheiser fitted a custom 7mm driver that delivers a soundstage wider than most earbuds have any right to produce. The detail retrieval is exceptional. Instruments separate cleanly. Vocals have presence without being pushed forward artificially. And the aptX Lossless codec support means you're getting genuinely lossless audio from a compatible Android device. That's not marketing fluff. The difference is audible on well-mastered tracks.
active noise cancellation (ANC) is good but not class-leading. On the 400-series bus, it handled low-frequency drone effectively but let in more mid-range noise than the Sony XM5 or Bose QC Ultra. If your primary use case is noise cancellation on a commute, the Sony is the better pick. If your primary use case is listening to music and the commute noise is secondary, these are it.
Battery life is strong: 7.5 hours with ANC on, 30 hours total with the case. That matches or beats every competitor except the Pixel Buds Pro 2. The case charges via USB-C and wireless.
For the all-day calls test: this is the weak spot. Microphone quality is underwhelming for the price. You sound fine in a quiet room, but any background noise and the person on the other end struggles. If you spend 4+ hours a day on calls, the Jabra Elite 10 is a better choice for voice clarity.
Fit is secure thanks to replaceable rubber fins, but the housings are physically large. They protrude from your ears more than the Sony or Samsung options. For the lawn mowing test, the fins kept them stable, but the larger profile caught more wind noise during outdoor use.
LE Audio and Auracast support future-proofs these for the next wave of Bluetooth features. Multi-device connectivity works smoothly. The Sennheiser Smart Control app is clean and gives you detailed EQ control.
Available at JB Hi-Fi ($354), Addicted to Audio, MiniDisc, and Sennheiser Australia. The specialist audio retailers (Addicted to Audio, MiniDisc) often match or beat JB pricing.
Your rights under Australian Consumer Law: At $354, these are premium earbuds with a reasonable expected lifespan of 3 to 4 years. Sennheiser offers a 2-year manufacturer warranty, which is better than most. But consumer guarantees extend beyond that. If the drivers degrade, the aptX Lossless module fails, or the case stops charging within the expected lifespan, that's a consumer guarantee claim. Start with the retailer. Addicted to Audio, JB Hi-Fi, wherever. They handle it, not Sennheiser's European service centre.

Repairability
| Criterion | Score | Details |
