OLED is hands down the best TV technology you can buy right now, and I'm not exaggerating. Every pixel makes its own light, so blacks are actually black - not the grey nonsense you get with LED. Contrast is insane, colours pop without looking artificial, and the viewing angles are perfect no matter where you're sitting in the room. Yeah, OLEDs used to have burn-in issues, but that's basically solved now with modern tech.

The catch? They cost more. But if you actually care about picture quality - and you should - it's worth every dollar. I've tested heaps of OLEDs this year, and the competition between LG, Samsung, and Sony is fierce. LG still dominates with their C-series, which offers the best bang for buck, while Samsung's new QD-OLED panels are genuinely brilliant if you've got the cash. Sony's pricey but their processing is second to none.

Don't bother with OLEDs under 55 inches - the tech doesn't shine on small screens. And if you're worried about price, you might want to look at premium QLED instead. But if you want to experience what modern TVs can actually do, OLED is the only answer.
